Coming to Russia was both a challenge and a dream come true, considering I wanted to visit this country ever since I was a little girl. I said challenge because so far I haven't had the chance to interact a lot with children and this is also my first -of many more to come- project of this kind. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the kids in the center are very active and sociable, and, both the little ones and teenagers were eager to play and were open to discovering something new. We had a „cultural exchange” and we learned words from them and vice-versa. It was a beautiful trade of greetings in Romnian, Russian and English and we also learned new games like „letela vorona" or the „old ladies” game which the kids enthusiastically accepted. Thanks to this project I discovered a new side of myself and these children showed me what innocence and honesty means. I learned from them that sometimes losing so your friends could enjoy winning is a pleasure and that it's better and more fun to change the rules so that even the kids who can't jump or run could play. The little humans taught me to have fun and enjoy everyday things as that is where happiness can be found.
