I left home thinking that Russia is too abundant to be synthesized. The only synthesis: two months, the first EVS. A road, known from now as 'ulita', where you do not need the map because a reflex of orientation is born spontaneously and comfortably. A 'ulita' along which, paradoxically, you recognize buildings, neighborhoods, people, attitudes, like you brought them from home with you, exposed in a familiar and welcoming way. In the Sogbu Center Vishenki the houses seem to be cut out of gingerbread, with children who want to know you and who lure you to meet them. They know a language of empathy and do not stay on the beaten track. The nostalgia of the volunteer about an old student life when you share the same room with four colleagues is immediately installed. The city is not far from anything: Smolensk! The city with forests and lakes in which family is not just a concept. That 'ulita', that shows, composes a panorama, but in which you need to search as well! Two months, the first EVS.
